The Department of Civil Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for one Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track faculty position in Construction Engineering and Management and one or more tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in Structural Engineering beginning Fall 2019/Spring 2020. Candidates should have research and teaching interests that complement those of the existing faculty. Each selected candidate is expected to develop an externally funded research program while teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, directing graduate students, and engaging in university and professional service. Current Construction Engineering and Management research interests include, but are not limited to, heavy infrastructure construction and management, infrastructure interdependence and resilience, sustainable infrastructure, construction/post-construction stormwater management and sediment control, low-impact development, construction staffing issues and strategies, construction knowledge management, building information modeling, estimating, and scheduling.
A candidate for a Structural Engineering position is expected to develop a research program that utilizes the capabilities of Auburn University’s new Advanced Structural Testing Laboratory (construction to be completed in 2020).

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field, at the time employment begins, and be able to communicate effectively in English. Candidates accepted for these positions must be able to satisfy eligibility requirements for work in the United States on the date appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of the appointment. The ability to complete requirements for professional engineering licensure in a timely manner is desirable. |
