Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has one or more positions available for an experienced plumbing designer. Responsibilities include designing plumbing and fire protection systems for military, commercial, aviation, healthcare, and/or correctional facilities; preparing plans and specifications for bidding and construction; preparing and performing quality checks of documents; mentoring less experienced staff and conducting periodic construction site inspections. Entrance onto military bases is an essential function of this position; candidates must be able to pass federal, state, and/or local agency background checks. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have an associate degree or higher in engineering (or related degree) and at least eight years of relevant plumbing design experience; OR if no degree, must have at least ten years of relevant plumbing design experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: designing domestic water supply, waste and vent systems; developing performance criteria for fire protection systems; designing compressed air systems; REVIT; mentoring less experienced staff; codes, statutes, and laws related to building plumbing design and construction; designing pure water systems. The ideal candidate will also be a Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) or licensed designer.
