We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Construction Manager with 10 or more years’ experience to lead multi-disciplinary teams, serve as an Owner’s Representative, and successfully deliver of a diverse range of projects in the water/wastewater and transportation sectors. Anticipated work spans a variety of heavy civil infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, storage facilities, roadway construction, multi-modal transportation improvements, stormwater and green infrastructure projects throughout San Diego County and Southern California. As a Principal, your key duties include developing and managing client relationships, quarterbacking project pursuits, leading construction management and inspection teams, performing contract and personnel management, and mentoring our talented, up and coming staff. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, entrepreneurial and ambitious, and possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills that will allow for them to engage in a variety of projects and to collaborate with clients, contractors, project partners and the public at all levels.
Bachelor’s OR master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, construction management, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, construction management, and/or general contracting. Prior experience in heavy civil infrastructure projects in the water, wastewater, stormwater, and/or transportation sectors. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage tasks for technically complex projects. Attention to detail and safety. Responsible to manage budgets and capable of supervising staff. Comfortable in contract negotiations serving as Owner’s Representative. Proficient in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook). Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Professional certifications such as a licensed PE in the State of California, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are also desired. Training such as Confined Space competent person, Fall Protection competent person, Trench & Excavation competent person, and First Aid CPR.
