Director of Engineering and Operations Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative Wysox, PA Claverack REC invites applications for the position of Director of Engineering and Operations, reporting directly to the CEO. Claverack has contracted with NRECA’s Executive Search to facilitate the search process. Preference will be given to applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology. But, in lieu of a degree, 15 years of progressive responsibility and directly related experience may be considered acceptable with at least five years of that at a supervisory level. Applicants with a four-year degree in a related subject with five years in supervision will also be considered. A broad knowledge of building and maintaining an electrical distribution system to include both overhead and underground lines is required. A Pennsylvania professional engineer license is preferred. Other areas of desired expertise include: - Strong knowledge of RUS specifications, National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, OSHA Rules and Regulations and policies and procedures of Claverack REC.
- The ability to assess the organization’s needs as they relate to maintenance and construction, and then work with the CEO to develop budgets and implement strategies to address those needs.
- Productive interaction with internal and external contacts.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, motivate, train and supervise people with enthusiasm in order to relate ideas and concepts.
- Proficiency with standard and engineering-related computer programs.
- A commitment to teamwork and the cooperative principles is desirable.
Claverack is a member-owned electric cooperative with 18,500 members and 44 employees. Claverack’s electric sales are primarily to residential accounts but with some to industrial and commercial accounts also.
