Position Description
Responsible for managing all of the electrical maintenance activities, and support staff, of an electric generating station. This includes responsibility for the Maintenance, Planning and Engineering functions of the Electrical Maintenance department.
Essential Job Tasks: Ensure compliance with all corporate safety requirements. Ensure all supervisors stress safety and all employees wear appropriate safety equipment. Ensure all safety and OSHA training requirements are completed by employees. Ensure adherence to clearance procedures. No personal injury or PMVA issues. Maintain records as required. Plans and directs all maintenance activities and coordinates these activities with other departments. Directs the activities of the planning department to improve productivity through proper job planning. Emphasizes the use of MAXIMO and Oracle to ensure full utilization of these systems. Directs the activities of assigned maintenance engineers to improve reliability and performance of station equipment. Recommends staffing, training, promotions, discipline and wage and salary adjustments for all responsible departments. Prepares evaluations and approves time sheets for supervised employees. Attends or conducts various committee meetings (EMS, Safety, BMP, etc.). Develops and establishes department departmental policies and procedures. Develop, manage and track departmental budgets. Approves work schedules, initiates, reviews, approves and implements various operating reports, logs, directives and regulations. Reviews purchase requisitions, various printouts and reports, technical bulletins, vendor publications, work orders, material stocking and transaction forms for accuracy, approval and submission. Plans materials, services and manpower requirements to properly accomplish assigned projects. Supervises project installation.
