We are presently seeking Associate Technicians to join our Technical Development Services and Quality (TDSQ) group. We are a small, dedicated team with large goals and a strong, established reputation. Our efforts support over 120 facilities across the United States, including six containerboard mills, over 90 packaging manufacturing locations, and multiple design centers. We work within a large network solving unique and interesting problems to ensure that all the products our customers ship to homes and stores arrive safe and sound.
Provide accurate, effective, quick response testing, evaluation, and reporting on paper-based packaging materials, clearly communicating results to internal and external Customers. Maintain the accuracy and functionality of lab facilities, including participation in internal calibration and verification (internal/external) programs.
Grow skill base in lab operations, developing competence and expertise. Learn to address Customer (internal/external) questions with limited additional collaboration and support.
Work safely both on site and off, assuring safe operation of all lab equipment and supporting our lab safety culture and site safety goals.

This position requires a professional able to follow guidance on test protocols, safely executing them in a timely fashion. This individual works cooperatively across the TDSQ group and is expected to collaborate with more senior team members as needed to determine the best way to address customer needs and report results.
Education equivalent to high school diploma required, Associates or similar preferred, or meaningful prior laboratory experience in the paper/board/package testing field.
Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal).
Curiosity and a willingness to continue acquiring and growing skills and knowledge in the field.
Ability to safely handle packages of up to greater of 50 lbs. or SOPI/OSHA limits (or 100 lbs. with assistance).
Willingness to travel occasionally, by appropriate modes.
