The consistent growth and maturity of our client's business has increased the need for a progressive QualityManager. Reporting to the General Manager, the Quality Manager will oversee and optimize the Quality Control department and team in alignment with core business objectives and KPI’s. This includes professionalizing and optimizing people, processes, and systems while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
The Quality Manager will maximize the opportunity to lead, develop, and coach a team of five direct reports (as well as various third-party stakeholders). The successful candidate will possess the ability to influence others, instill a continuous improvement mindset, and inspire a fierce commitment to best-in-class quality standards. The Quality Manager will also leverage a deep understanding of fast-paced, technical manufacturing environments to optimize the overall health of the department and elevate KPI’s in alignment with business objectives and organizational values.
As a critical and visible member of the leadership team, the Quality Manager will function both strategically (with an ability to develop and communicate departmental vision/ strategy) as well as tactically (with an ability to “roll up sleeves” and operationalize/ execute strategy).
Additionally, the Quality Manager will:
Leverage resources to optimize quality standards and talent initiatives. Challenge legacy behaviors and instill performance excellence via metrics, KPI’s, data, and proactive planning.
Spend time “on the floor” working closely with staff to establish credible relationships and consistent communications. Investigate, document, and resolve quality issues through training and controls.
Ensure timely handling and resolution of quality issues, discrepancies, design flaws, and prevent reoccurrence through root-cause analysis.
Investigate and resolve RMA issues. Analyze and coordinate corrective actions and ensure preparation for regulatory audits.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to support internal and external ISO and ITAR audits. Align departmental processes, programs, and behaviors to regulatory guidelines.
Optimize QC testing processes/ procedures. Create and distribute specifications and communications.
Elevate project management, workflows, processes, procedures, and other key infrastructure to meet the highest standard of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Develop and adhere to methodology for inspection of materials. Establish a cadence to continuously examine products and processes for quality standards.
Supervise and develop Technicians engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over products and processes. Plan and organize team development and cross-training activities related to product and process quality/ reliability.
Collaborate and communicate with Engineering, Production, Safety, and cross-functional teams to mitigate risk, co-drive organizational processes, and proactively address quality issues.

Lead/ Inspire & Elevate: Assess, enhance, and performance manage the Quality team. Engender trust with legacy and new employees to transform the culture and unify staff. Identify end-to-end “skill/ will” talent gaps, create and execute individual and departmental training/ development plans.
Operational Rigor, Standards, & Certifications: Implement and ensure adherence to a quality-based culture backed by standards, controls, KPI’s, and policies that elevate the department and business assets.Plan, direct, and manage all aspects of quality processes in accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) to meet custom customer specifications and exceed customer expectations. Enhance current certifications and elevate practices in alignment with new standards.
EQ/ Relationships: Leverage emotional intelligence and relationship savvy to embrace and elevate internal and external (customer) relationships. Co-manage third-party stakeholders in alignment with enterprise growth objectives.
Technology/ Systems: Develop an understanding of business systems/ technology; leverage analytics and business insights to inform decision making, protect data and knowledge (assist with system/ platform upgrades and the integration of NetSuite).
Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering and/or 10+ years of progressive Quality Control experience within synergistic manufacturing environments.
3-5+ years’ experience leading and elevating Quality teams. Demonstrated success hiring, interviewing, performance-managing, and retaining top talent.
Proven experience building a best-in-class “Quality cadence” within compliance-oriented and regulatory-driven business environments.
