Rock River Valley Blood Center is looking for a Quality Systems Director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow and utilize their strong leadership and quality system management skills in a great, mission-oriented environment with great purpose!
This position is accountable for overseeing the strategic planning, development and execution of all quality systems and process improvement initiatives center-wide. This includes business operations relating to blood collection, testing, manufacturing, distribution, document control, customer service, safety, risk management, training, internal and external audits/inspections. Role is responsible for ensuring the organization is in full compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and professional contract requirements, including but not limited to FDA, CLIA, HIPPA, AABB, and OSHA.
Successful candidate is a self-starter who will lead and champion all quality initiatives from start to finish, taking an influential, collaborative, team-oriented and business friendly approach. Must possess strong leadership skills with advanced knowledge and business acumen in quality system concepts and process improvement. Must have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; exceptional attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks; effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.

5 plus years experience in a progressive quality systems role within a highly regulated environment, i.e., cGMP or similar manufacturing, healthcare or banking.
3 plus years supervisory and leadership experience.
Previous experience interpreting and implementing regulatory/accrediting standards required.
Bachelor's degree in health science, quality management or related field. M.T. or M.L.S. (ASCP) a plus.
RRVBC - Rock River Valley Blood Center, is a community blood center located in Rockford, IL. We must collect more than 800 units of blood each week to meet the needs of our 14 hospitals. We rely on donors from nine counties of the Rock River Valley, including Winnebago, Boone, Carroll, Lee, McHenry, Ogle and Stephenson counties in Illinois and Walworth and Rock County in Wisconsin. RRVBC employs approximately 100 people, including a Medical Director, healthcare, financial and community relations. RRVBC has four locations. In addition, there are up to three mobile blood drives each day. RRVBC is a not-for-profit organization, governed by an eleven member Board of Directors. We are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration; accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks; and a member of America’s Blood Centers.
